A video for the wonderful dragonnette song "Jesus Doesn't Love Me" has surfaced on the internet after having been taken off the internet in February of last year. However it has surfaced again on other sites such as youtube and perez hilton. Could this mean a release of the song? Who knows, anyway i'm just glad to finally see it! Now i saw this band performing as a support for robyn and performing with her too. Kleerup are one of the many cool things coming out of Sweden at the moment. They created the #1 with robyn last year. (Which also features on their album) However there are some other beauties on there, one of which featuring Lykke Li "Until We Bleed". This has to be the most beautiful songs i've heard in a while. The last one has to be Goldfrapps "A&E". Kleerup seem to have this wonderful way of creating magnificently beautifully crafted songs. Sam sparro's second single from his fab self-titled debut is going to be "21st Century Life" Ok i've had a few friends that have been diasappointed with the album because they thought there would be 13 black and golds. Ok, if an artist did 13 similar songs, it gets on my tits and i wouldn't like them. This song is mildly political, but not so much to get on your nerves. The intro is amazing creeping up at you from no where. Sam filmed the video for the single about a week ago so we should be seeing it shortly. I'll be sure to post it when it surfaces. until then here's a song not on the album, but on the Black and Gold EP that he released last year!

Today i have a collection of rare remixes from some of my favourite artists. Recently Goldfrapp released their second single from seventh tree. The remix package was sufficient but nothing really club standard. Then a youtube video made by Rex The Dog was going round the internet as their remix was rejected by the band. It is Absolutely GOLD though!

The Scissor Sisters released a very limited amount of their 5th single from Ta-dah, "Lights" I think it was only 200 copies in total with them going for £150 on eBay. Which is absolutely ridiculous! Anyway it featured a remix is by Luamo. It is a fairly decent remix although drags on for to long.

Robyn's Konichiwa Bitches is a great upbeat track and very short. A version that was almost forgotten about was released by robyn almost a year ago which is much more chilled and features extra verses. It was remixed by Klas Alhund who produced most of the songs on her album!

Shirley Manson album very "Noir"

OK, i thought I'd post about this because i forgot to when i saw Shirley Manson in Edinburgh! Yes, i was fricking star struck, when one of my idols was standing like a metre away from me with no guards barriers etc etc.

She had a public appearance at Harvey Nichols to hand over a cheque to the aids fund due to the sales of M-A-C viva glam lipstick! Kissed off or what! Anyway she was interviewed by local tv stations and she explained how her record company described her album as being very noir, which she took as a compliment and then realised it actually wasn't. The interview can be found below!

Anyway here is my fave photo that i took where Shirley attacked the MAC guy with the lipstick. I dont see what the big problem is, a lot of garbage songs are very noir. I wonder just how dark they are.. Hmm Anyway heres a few of garbage's darker tracks and a facebook group to join to sign a petition.

Sam Sparro @ Òran Mór, Glasgow

Omg exam stress had been doing my head in all day, so as soon as i'd finished my exam for Soil, water & Atmospheric processes (yes, it is as bad as it sounds!)Fraser picked me up and off and we headed to glasgow to see sam. The traffic was shit, but when we got nearer but pretty much dissappeared after a while. We'd been once before to see Patrick Wolf there before. The worst thing about that gig was that Patrick's set list got cut short...so we were worried that, that would happen to Sam too. But i think he must have been told because his set list was only 7 songs long. (Still decent though obv)Anyway we arrived there very early do went and got a chipper then hung out next to the entrance where ever 4 mins people would go down the stairs thinking it was open already! Although the tix did say open at seven and we didn't actually get in until 7.45pm.

Ok when we got inwe just went to the stage front and center. You're so close in Oran Mor. The artist is normally just towering over you which is always good! Anyway the support band were awesome, Frankmusik. Probably the best support band i've heard in absolutely ages. The lead singer seemed nervous at times, but they said that this was their biggest gig they'd played and that they were used to bedrooms etc. Really really good anyway, wasn't one of those supports that you just wanted to hurry up and finish!

After them there was a little bit of confusion because we thought we were getting to hear some Jack Mcmanus! But it seemed like they were just setting up sam's stuff. And half an hour or more later there he came along with his band on stage! He was so close. He opened with 21st Century Life. Was awesome. Everyone in the crowd was up for it right from the start. The atmosphere was amazing! Each song seemed to get a better and better reception. Sam gave high fives to people in the crowd (I think i slapped his arm by mistake lol) and took flashing blue LED glasses from the girls to our left who were mental! He also said how artists he'd spoken to such as Kylie and Mark Ronson say that Glasgow crowds are the best! Then asked by someone in the crowd "What do you think?" Sam - "Yeah Glasgow is the best!, beats London" He mentioned that they thought they weren't going to make it there after their bus broke down in london. Yikes! Sam also performed a cover of Gypsy woman, originally by Crystal w aters. I didn't know it that well but everyone liked it. For black & gold though the crowd just exploded! People went flippin' mental! He extended it aswell and just totally went for it. Once finished sam mentioned that he wished he could play another song, but he couldn't. Damn damn oran mor and it stupid curfew crap. Anyway amazing set, absolutely awesome live.

Me and fraz both managed to grab a set list and then headed outside for a little while to see if we could catch him afterwards. While doing so we saw Jack mcmanus wandering about. Shame he never got to play, must have been because they never had enough time when they arrived! Anyway at about quarter to 11 we caught Sam and asked him for a picture he was lovely, apologising for being sweaty and so on. Lovely, lovely guy. When we got a picture with him some guy was shouting move out of the way, we need our van to go down there!! Grr... So he was kinda scared away quickly :( Anyway i'm trying to plan a way to see him and robyn together in manchester. I suggest that you go see him! Well worth it!

P.S The album is GOLD too!

Ok i feel like a pig at the moment. Revision gives me the nibbles. At least madonna's album is out to satisfy our needs with a little bit of HARD CANDY! The album is one of those you absolutely loathe at the start. But like a refresher bar gets better when you suck for a little longer and get to the sherbert. Ok i'm making myself hungry now! Probably the most annoying one on the album is Incredible, which lets face it isn't. The album's standout tracks are Candy Store, Beat Goes On, Voices, Devil and my fave at the mo She's not me.

I've recently just found out that Maroon 5's new single "If I Never See Your Face Again" has had a remix from Rihanna. The released version will be the one featuring her. It just makes it so much more interesting to listen to. The video will be coming soon. When it does i'll be sure to post it here! The orginal of this song is great as it is,but this duet is sure to bring some much needed interest in maroon 5's new track!

I'm oh so very drained from revision and boredom..Ugh. The month of may is a cruel month of exams and little excitement. Recently I found myself listening to britney's b-side for break the ice. It samples the wonderful "sweet dreams" by the Eurythmics. Its probably a marmite track. The end is the best part where its as if its a duet between annie lennox and britney! Very cool. Also there is the fairly classic sweet dreams remix of pink's get the party started. Another remix of the original that does itself justice in the clubs is the benny benassi remix.

One of my friends from home is loosly related to annie lennox and saw her at a funeral of a relatives. Not the best time for autographs. Oh the distant contacts. Cant beat the original though!

With the amount of remixes of each single Britney Spears gets for each single. Sometimes it's hard to find one that is half decent and different from the rest. But the Wideboys distinctive sound and technique at remixing, gives the track a whole new level of enjoyment

The next remix is by an upcoming new band from the states, their success is growing quickly. It's the Black Kids. I don't really like the orginal of this song..the vocals dont seem to be loud enough however the twelves remix makes it sound great and much more addictive!

Sparro is Flying High

Sam sparro released his debut album yesterday on island records. He's managed to change NME's opinion on him after a week and actually got nominated for an award in america. Although it is quite typical of NME because they tend to be quite fickle! The sparro has also just recently performed with Mark Ronson at Coachella helping out with "Stop Me" and "Black and Gold".

Anyway most people will be wondering if songs off the album will live up to the standards of "Black and Gold" or whether they will just be dribble. However the album is very good and has a good mix of songs. If you like black & gold you will love "21st Century Life" and "Pocket".

However if your into something more random and funky, "Cottonmouth" will do you good!

Warmth Through Music This Winter

Goldfrapp are returning this year with their 4th studio album. It's a change of direction from the last two which would lead you to imagine you were in a beautiful landscape surrounded by trees . The first single to be lifted from "Seventh Tree", A&E, is beautiful and fairly simplistic but has Alison's pretty vocals conjuring up warmth and beauty. Ok the songs are less disco worthy, but are just as good, with songs like Little Bird and Monster Love conjuring up images continuously as you listen to them.

Goldfrapp are touring the Uk in June (dates in picture) while A&E is available to download on Sunday.

*I'm hopefully going to Glasgow! :)

Dragonette's got "Competition" and puts up a good fight.

Dragonette are set to release the wonderful "Competition" as there 3rd single i believe. I heard from a friend that it may change to "True Believer", however the surface of some remixes suggests that competition may just turn out to be the next single. Dragonette have had a hard time with single releases. First being very little radio play and having a hard time trying to get copies of the CD's shops. However people seem to really get them. Quotes off the album from NME and Uncut saying they're "the missing link between Gwen Stefani and Dita Von Teese" and are the "21st Century Eurhthmics". With songs that are literally "THE SEX" of music,
its maybe the reason they're not getting adopted by the whole pop crowd. But to be honest i like that but i just feel that more radio play is in order. There songs are wonderful poppy beats that need more appreciation than they're getting!

Monkey Business with Comedy songs!

Hello, i'm back with another update which is sure to amuse you. Lately i've been running into comedy songs from here, there and everywhere. From old demos i've collected of the Scissor Sisters such as "Monkey Baby", "Bicycling With The Devil" and "Backwoods Discoteque Pt. I" All of these have funny metaphors and crude humour which usually climaxes at the end. However i recently came upon Robyn's UK Bonus Track called "Jack U Off" which basically describes her jacking off girls in many places and seemingly she only does it for a "worthy cause, virginity or menopause!"

Scott Mills from radio 1 has also been playing "Ladies Bras" every so often inbetween random songs and basically screwing up the charts with this comedy song and by the looks of it making a joke of the UK charts! :P

If you havn't seen the simpsons movie yet you have to just for the sake of SPIDER PIG! The writers of the simpsons cant go wrong with the sheer randomness of spider pig whichtook the spiderman theme and shat on it with pig slurry. Hey all!

Sorry it's been so long since a new post. Just been preoccupied with things. T In The Park last Sunday was fabulous and my expectations of The Gossip & Scissor Sisters were met as you can see from the following youtube videos. The first one of Scissor Sisters in their tartan drawers singing "Kiss You Off" (where my banner features "kiss you off these neeps of mine!") and the second where Beth Ditto joins Mika for a cover of "Sweet Dreams"

Anyway back to the main post item. Garbage have released a new single called "Tell Me Where It Hurts" It is a very dramatic tune with and orchestral sound to it. I went out and purchased the single today from HMV because it was £1 and 1p more expensive in Virgin. Screw you Virgin. Anyway the B-Side is called "Betcha" and takes the piss of the pussycat dolls song "Dontcha" where it goes "Betcha that your girlfriends a slut like me" and so on. Quite antique garbage sounding. Anyway here's clips of the songs, as i'd prefer if you wanted them this time you go buy them online or instore as they're a band well worth supporting!

T In The Park!

Ok, I'm off to T in the park tomorrow, well hopefully after all the problems with travel and mud etc. People were seemingly turned away from the car parks after having queued for hours. Anyway, back to the music. I'm really looking forward to seeing The Gossip live for the first time. Beth Ditto has got such a great voice and attitude in general to make the overall experience really amazing. The album "Standing In The Way Of Control" contains some great gems like "Listen Up!" the latest single from it, "Jealous Girls" and "Yr Mangled Heart". I managed to find a fantastic remix of Listen Up! by A Touch Of Class. It's quite a rare remix but bloody good.

A Touch Of Class have also remixed artists like Scissor Sisters who used to be signed to their label (Which of course I am really looking forward to also) and have made their song "Filthy Gorgeous" sound even more dirty and filthy than the original! The Sisters have been performing the chilled out version by Paper Faces at recent events however and the rare demo of "Contact High" found on the Ta-Dah Bonus Disc.

Sadly i'm most dissapointed about missing CSS on the Saturday. Css's Lovefoxxx is full of soo much energy I could just imagine her coming on stage with springs attaced to her feet and bouncing about shaking her hair. Justin Timberlake is back with his 4th single from Futuresex/Lovesounds. This time he's releasing the ever so catchy Love Stoned which shows of his beatboxing skills that he likes to flaunt. Anyway the video is JT dancing about as Radio waves and is directed by Robert Hales (same director that did the "Kiss You Off" video). Its been reported that the studios for this video used 600 kilowatts of energy! The most the studios ever used... Not the greenest entertainer.... lol but here's some of the promo mixes and the radio edit!

Just been listening to this new David Guetta track. The last thing we heard from him was Love don't Let Me Go Vs. The Egg. There are similar elements to this new track. Very good dance track obviously, but its the weird ass video that made it stand out to me. Ill let you have a look! lol Let me know what you think of it and my blog! Thanks xx

Umbrella by Rihanna has been at the top of the charts for is it 7 weeks now? Or maybe i've lost track a little but can you blame me! I think it's time to move on to the second single from her new album "Good Girl Gone Bad" and stop echoeing umbrella ella ella ella eh eh eh eh...etc! Anyway it's called "Shut Up & Drive" I personally like it and think that it is a very good choice for the second single with all the inuendoes and car talk. But this is not the first time it's been done of course. It's been done by the like's of Garbage and Gwen Stefani also with their tracks "Driving Lesson" and "Crash".

Hello this is my first attempt at a music blog and I am quite new to it all. So give me a chance! I'll try and provide some tunes you wouldn't normally get your hands on and some all round fun. First of all heres the reason behind the name of the blog. My favourite band Scissor Sisters Glam Rock Disco track Kiss You Off and the Mr.Oizo Remix. (Which takes some getting used to!) Sadly it didn't do too well in the charts entering at number 43. However if you want to help keep the kissing alive. Request it at your local clubs!
